Amanda Mammana, a 19-year-old singer with a speech impediment, receives a standing ovation from the judges and the audience during her performance of an original song on America’s Got Talent 2022. This talented woman with a speech disorder steps outside of her comfort zone to show everyone that nothing is impossible with God.
Amanda was unstoppable on stage, armed with a guitar, a pure voice, courage, and a heart. She may have stuttering to explain the story behind her own song, but that was no reason for her to stop and show everyone her God-given talents.
“There was a time when I was a kid and I was like, I can never do anything like this, I’m not good enough,” Amanda Mammana said after her performance. Despite her difficulties, she follows her heart and has the courage to audition.
“Good enough doesn’t explain what we just heard; it’s not only good, it’s great,” Howie Mandel said. Look at how you’re influencing this audience, and I believe you’re influencing millions of people right now.”
“You were amazing,” Simon added, “and I mean your voice is so pure, so beautiful, and you’re also a good song writer, and I think you’re an incredible person, and I’m so glad you came here.”
Amanda received four yes votes from the judges and will move on to the next round of the competition.
Sometimes we see our flaws and imperfections as a curse and a punishment in our lives, but know that God created us fearfully and wonderfully; we may have flaws and weaknesses, but they will never prevent us from pursuing our dreams; whatever we have from Him is truly a blessing in disguise.
