Brennan Lassiter, 20, wins over all four judges on The Voice with her beautiful voice and country rendition of ‘You Are My Sunshine.’
This gifted singer had barely finished the first verse when all of the judges were pressing their buttons to hear the incredible voice behind them. Brenna delivered an emotional rendition of this classic song that wowed the entire audience.
“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You’ll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don’t take my sunshine away”
Brennan, dressed in cowboy boots, appeared to be a slam dunk for country artist and coach Blake Shelton. Even his fellow judges believed Brennan would select this winning judge.
Kelly Clarkson, another coach, drew laughter from the audience when she pleaded with Brennan to consider all of her options. Each coach was given the opportunity to fight for the young singer, and they all had nothing but positive things to say about her. According to John Legend, “We were all moved because your voice has such strength and beauty. I didn’t have to grow up listening to country music to understand that; I just knew it.”
Brennan surprised the entire panel when she chose Kelly as her coach this season after much deliberation. Kelly is certainly in a great position to mentor this bold voice that is sure to go far in the competition, with a recent win under her belt. What were your thoughts on Brennan’s blind audition?
