Irish singer, guitarist, and composer Allie Sherlock got her start playing on the streets. In June 2017, a YouTube video of her rendition of Ed Sheeran’s “Supermarket Flowers” went viral, and as a result, Ellie started receiving invitations to TV appearances. Ellie eventually decided to pursue a career in music. She typically gives performances on Dublin’s Grafton Street and uploads videos of them to his YouTube page. Ellie and One Republic embarked on a European tour in March 2020, stopping in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and the UK.
It was incredible, Ellie stated in an interview with The Irish Sun. The first couple of nights were peculiar. Even though I wasn’t very good, I was anxious. I didn’t do anything wrong; I’m just not used to the entire talking portion, to be honest. Speaking is harder for me than singing. The last night at the London Palladium theater, which quickly became my favorite, was the easiest of them all. The audience was incredible.
Ellie was slated to appear at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre again in the spring of 2020, however, the performance was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, she gave internet performances from her living room; at the end of some of her broadcasts, she had received 128,000 views in total. “Many people inquire as to why I continue to act in public when I am not required to, and the answer is simple: I like doing so. I want to continue doing what I started doing.
