Britain’s Got Talent is a televised British talent show that is part of Simon Cowell’s global Got Talent franchise. It is hosted by Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, produced by Thames and Syco Entertainment, distributed by Fremantle, and broadcast on ITV this summer. The show was supposed to air in 2005, but production was halted due to a disagreement between ITV and the show’s original host.

Following the success of America’s Got Talent that same year, production was restarted, and the show debuted on June 9, 2007. Every year, contestants of all ages can audition for the TV show with any talent they want to show. During the audition, contestants try to impress the jury, which is currently made up of Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alyosha Dixon, and David Walliams, in order to advance to the live rounds of the competition.

Once in the live rounds, contestants must impress the public and judges in order to advance to the final, where they will compete for a cash prize and a seat in this year’s Royal Variety Performance in front of the British Royal Family. A household. The show had fourteen winners as of 2020, ranging from musicians and singers to entertainers, magicians, and dancers.
