These extraordinary street musicians use their feet to perform a vast international musical repertoire…

“Despacito” is a song written by Luis Fonsi and performed by Daddy Yankee from Vida’s tenth studio album, which was released on January 12, 2017. On April 17, 2017, the remixed version (featuring Justin Bieber) topped the US (Billboard Hot 100) and UK (UK Singles Chart) charts, marking the first time a Spanish-language song had been a hit since 1996’s Macarena.

The clip was listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most popular video in YouTube history after receiving 6,000,000,000 views, and it also became the leader among YouTube video clips in terms of the most likes (over 45,000,000 as of September 20, 2021). The song stayed at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 for sixteen weeks, breaking Mariah Carey’s record of “One Sweet Day.” On January 12, 2017, Universal Music Latin made “Despacito” available for digital download.

The physical release began on April 30, 2017, in Europe as a two-track single with the original and a pop version. In 2016, the song was recorded in Miami, Florida. Mauricio Rengifo and Andrés Torres produced the song; the latter is known for his work with David Bisbal and Ricky Martin. The first producer (Rengifo) is known as El Dandee of the Colombian pop duo Cali & El Dandee.
