Melody told Love What Matters about how her manager treated her well from the beginning of her pregnancy.

«When I gave birth, my boss was extremely gracious and gave me three months of maternity leave.» She then allowed me to work from home the majority of the week and come into the office only once a week. She allows me to bring my child in with me so that we can bond and nurse.

Such compassionate and inspiring workplace examples are obviously a rare occurrence.

It’s no surprise that Melody was moved by this generous gesture, which she will never forget.

«I understand that not every office or work environment is appropriate for children and newborns, but I believe that many places can be more flexible than they are now,» Melody tells Love What Matters.

Employers around the world could be more flexible with working mothers, not only making them feel better emotionally, but also saving money on things like babysitters.

«It significantly reduces childcare costs.» I hope that in the future, more parents will be able to spend every day with their child while also contributing to the family income, as I do.
