At Bates Elementary School in Louisville, Kentucky, a young boy warmed hearts by belting out the national anthem over the school’s loudspeaker.
DCorey Johnson, a third-grader, made a big impression when he sang on the school’s morning announcements.
When the school’s principal shared the 9-year-old boy’s serious pipes on social media, it quickly went viral.
“His teacher told me he could sing,” said principal Alecia Dunn, “but I hadn’t had the opportunity to hear him until the day he sang The National Anthem.” He was absolutely incredible! His contagious smile and personality are as big as his voice.”
Johnson sings into a phone mouthpiece in the one-and-a-half-minute video, which was posted on the school’s Facebook page on April 23.
The boy is extremely talented and enthusiastic about singing, as evidenced by the look on his face as he belted out “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
