In an emotionally charged video, parents document their premature baby’s pivotal first year.

Ward Miles had an eventful first year. He was born three months early, weighing only 1.5 pounds, and was rushed to the Neonatal Care Intensive Unit. His father, Benjamin Scot Miller, and mother, Lyndsey, kept a close eye on him during those early, stressful months.

Benjamin is a professional photographer who captured some intimate footage of his son and wife while they were in the hospital. “He was born way too soon, and the obstacles he had to overcome were really big, but not bigger than our God,” he wrote.

Ward’s parents were overjoyed when he was finally healthy enough to go home after spending months in the hospital. Benjamin chose to combine Ward’s early months with the beautiful months that followed to create this touching film about Ward’s first year.
