The America’s Got Talent Audition episodes premiere on June 21st, and in a fresh sneak peek, we meet a pole dancer who takes the art form to new heights.
Kristy Sellars is an Australian model. Sellars has practiced a variety of dance styles, but her favorite is pole dancing, which Judge Simon Cowell appears to dislike.
“It’s absolutely meaningless,” he says before Sellars begins her performance. He quickly eats his words, however. Sellars’ pole-dancing act is incredible—and defies gravity. She not only performs gymnast-level stunts on the pole with grace and style, but she also includes a moving, computerized backdrop that adds dimension and excitement to her act. To be honest, you have to see it to believe it. Cowell was smiling towards the end, and Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara all gave Sellars a standing ovation.
Is this, however, enough to advance Sellars to the next round of AGT? You’ll have to watch the show to find out—and to find out what else is in store. If Cowell’s words are any indication, we’re in for even more mind-boggling performances.
“Honestly, I thought the first two days [of Auditions] were going to be a disaster this year,” he told Access Hollywood in April. “Everyone was awful. Then, after the third day, it turned a corner, and thank God, it got better and better and better. Excellent Golden Buzzers. I’ve never seen anything like it. It was fascinating, the people were fascinating, and the stories were fascinating. The talent is outstanding. I know it’s something a lot of people say, but it truly is. For whatever reason, this show attracts a lot of intriguing folks.”
