Simon Cowell Cries as ‘Nightbirde’ Returns to America’s Got Talent!!!!

Jane Marchevsky, better known as Nightbird, is an American singer-songwriter. She received a Golden Buzzer at the 2021 America’s Got Talent audition after releasing two EPs and two singles, but she did not advance to the quarterfinals due to failing health due to cancer. When Marchevsky was a student at Liberty, she uploaded her first songs and gave her first live performance in 2011. In 2012, she released Lines, a three-song EP on which she sang and played acoustic guitar. Ocean & Sky, a six-song EP she funded on Kickstarter, was released in 2013.

After graduation, Marchevsky remained a popular local performer in Lynchburg, Virginia. She returned to Ohio in 2014, and after her marriage, she relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where she later resumed performing under her married name, Jane Claudio, with her husband serving as her producer. The music for the 2015 documentary Leonard Knight: The Man and His Mountain were composed by Jane Marchevsky-Claudio.

“It was so poetic that these birds were singing like it was morning and yet there was no sign of it yet, and that’s what I want to embody,” Nightbird says of her professional stage name. “Girl in a Bubble,” her first single under this moniker, was released in March 2019. She was the opening act for Tori Kelly at Liberty in April 2019. In August 2020, after her second cancer diagnosis and remission, she released It’s All Right.

Her folk-pop hybrid style evolved into an electropop. She appeared as Nightbirde on America’s Got Talent’s 16th season audition in June 2021. During her post-performance interview with the judges, she made an inspiring statement: “You can’t wait until life gets hard before you decide to be happy.” Simon Cowell later awarded her a Golden Buzzer for her original song “It’s All Right.”

Marchevski withdrew from the competition in August 2021, before she could compete in the show’s quarterfinal round, due to declining health. Cowell advised her not to compete again, saying, “you [Marchevsky] don’t need the stress right now.”
