It takes a lot of practice to become a great singer or musician. The popular TV show “The X Factor” seeks to discover and reward hidden talent among ordinary people. Luke Lucas, a 16-year-old from Kent, England, is one spectacular example of this.
Appearing on “The X Factor” would be an incredible experience for anyone, but it was extra-special for Luke. He has a serious crush on the lovely singer-songwriter and TV personality Tulisa, as he admitted in an interview before the show and on stage.
She’s a judge in the competition, and she’d be right there in front of him if he sang the Jackson Five’s rendition of Smokey Robinson’s “Who’s Lovin’ You” (Michael Jackson was, of course, the lead singer for that one). But before he began singing, she invited him to kiss her on the cheek.
It’s impossible to describe how well Luke sings “Who’s Lovin’ You” if you only heard him speak in his normal voice. Check out the video embedded below to see (or hear) for yourself.
The audience was stunned, and all four judges were impressed, especially Tulisa, who told him, “I think you’re absolutely adorable,” and “You’re going to woo the ladies in this competition.” “You don’t learn to sing like that; you’re born to sing like that,” Gary Barlow added.
After exiting the stage, Luke pointed to his cheek and exclaimed, “Tulisa kissed me!” “I think it’s going to lead to a proposal,” he added. Such youthful exuberance!
