Wife is surprised by her military husband just hours before she gives birth.

Harold Rahming, a captain in the United States Army for 17 years, had a surprise for his wife Cara, who was about to have their first child.

The heart-wrenching incident occurred at the Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois, a Chicago suburb.

The military husband was seen standing in the delivery room corner with a toy, waiting for his wife Cara. When she saw her husband, she gasped in surprise, and they both melted into a long emotional embrace, sobbing softly.

“I had gone to use the restroom, and when I came out, there were all these people with cameras, and I was like, why are you recording?” Cara describes the emotional scene.

She had not expected to see Harold, who had been deployed in Iraq and was not expected to return for at least another month.

A few hours later, the baby was born and given the name Harold Leroy Rahming the IInd.

“No words can describe the feeling you get when you see your wife and child for the first time,” said the proud father of the baby boy, who returned from Iraq just in time for his son’s birth.
